Can Insomnia Be Cured
How do you cure Insomnia?
I have a friend who suffers from several nights of Insomnia. I am not sure how to help him out. he’s tried all the knock out drugs over the counter. They still work but I know this can’t be good. Is it something spiritual maybe he has no peace? I wish I know how to help my friend sleep well. Any good suggestions for some good nights sleep?

I have this problem now and then. I asked the Lord for guidence and guess where He led me? To the book of Esther!? Yes, read where the king could not sleep, so what did he do? He had someone come in and read the book of the Chronicles of the Kingdom. That should put him to sleep, right? So I had the idea, why not listen to the book of Chronicles? So I got a pillow speaker, hooked it up to a tape player, and played Alexander Scourby reading the RSV Bible. I started with the book of Chronicles and zzzzzzzzzzzz.
Now, here is the thinking. If the enemy gets my mind all wired so that I cannot sleep because I’m thinking about this or thinking about that, then why not listen to something that will benefit me spiritually? I found that the enemy does not WANT me to listen to the Bible so he tends to go elsewhere and leave my thoughts alone. Usually within 15-30 minutes, I’m out.
Now, granted, if I messed up and ate an Oreo cookie or drank a cup of coffee after 4pm, it’s my fault. Okay, at times like that I will listen to one hours of scripture. But HEY, it’s still the Word of God!
BTW-Today I now use an iPod connected to an iHome. I love our new technology!
